West Virginia Academy was selected as a semi-finalist for the 2023 Yass Prize this week at this year's Yass Summit. The announcement was made in an event on Tuesday headlined by the Beach Boys at the Cleveland Museum of Art. As a semi-finalist, West Virginia Academy will receive a substantial financial prize and participate in the Yass Prize Accelerator, a series of virtual and live workshops designed to foster growth and innovation for institutions engaged in education choice.
WVA remains in the running to become a finalist and the winner of the million dollar 2023 Yass Prize and is now eligible for the $100K Parent's Choice award. The Parent's Choice Award is determined based on a nationwide vote and anyone can vote for up to two candidates a day from now until voting closes on November 25th. Winning the Parent's Choice award would bring an additional $100,000 in funding to the state of West Virginia and supporters of the academy are encouraged to log in each day and vote.
