WVA Pre-Registration Closing Soon (12/15/21 Deadline)

West Virginia Academy is moving full-steam ahead with its plans to open in the Fall of 2022 and an important deadline is looming for families interested in being a part of West Virginia's first-ever public charter school. Next Wednesday, December 15th, 2021, is the last day to pre-register your child for this next school year. While pre-registration is not required to officially apply and enroll your child when that process begins this coming January, pre-registering your student now is the best way to ensure that the academy doesn't face capacity shortages in your child's grade level. "All students are welcome at our school and we are doing everything we can to make sure no student is turned away," said John Treu, President and Board Chair at West Virginia Academy. "In order to achieve that ambitious goal we are encouraging all families that wish to attend to pre-register by next week so that we can make sure there's enough space for everyone next Fall."

West Virginia Academy is one of just three pilot charter schools that has received approval to open as early as the Fall of 2022. The timeline for when each of these schools open will vary depending on the extent to which they are able to arrange all of the logistics including student registrations, facilities, and staffing. West Virginia Academy is well ahead of the game with nearly 400 students already pre-registered, a school site selected and under development, and its official hiring process for administration, faculty, and staff opening next month. "We couldn't be more excited for the hundreds of families in our community that are choosing to be a part of our school," Treu said. "We will have a tremendous positive impact in both our community as well as throughout West Virginia as the first school to offer families a meaningful choice in public education."
